Health Walks in East Kent

  • Health Walks are short, volunteer led local walks aimed at those who wish to be more active.  Walks are generally between 40-90 minutes and leave from accessible venues such as libraries and leisure centres throughout east Kent.
  • There is no need to book, just turn up for a free Health Walk. This is a very popular choice for many people who wish to become more active as it is a very sociable option as well. Most of the Health Walks finish with refreshments and a chat!

  • For more information, visit www.doverdistrictvolunteering.org.uk/healthwalks

Health Walks volunteers

  • All these Health Walks are led by trained volunteers.  In order to have as many Health Walks in east Kent as possible for you to join, we need to have friendly, reliable volunteers from the community to help assist on and lead the walks.

What's involved as a volunteer?

  • The initial commitment is only 6-8 weeks for about an hour a week.  There is full support provided including training delivered by the scheme coordinators.

  • If you are interested in a free volunteer training day including lunch (with no commitment to lead straight away) then get in touch with Martyn Jordan on 01304 367917 or email healthwalks@nhs.net

  • You can also complete the Outdoor Health Questionnaire before you turn up to the walk to save time. Don't forget to bring it to the walk with you! You can download the questionnaire here.
