Health Trainers are a new nationwide workforce supporting individuals from within their local communities. 

A Health Trainer offers tailored advice, motivation and practical support to individuals who want help with adopting healthier lifestyles. 

East Kent Health Trainers

What do health trainers offer?

Health trainers offer up to six to eight free sessions of support, encouragement and practical assistance in local venues. They can help you make postive changes to your lifestyle including:

  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Healthy eating
  • Exercise
  • Losing weight
  • Sexual health concerns
  • Stopping smoking
  • Drug and alcohol issues
  • Accessing local services.

Health Trainer Locations - East Kent

West Kent Health Trainers

Health Trainers is a service to support local residents who want to have more control over their health, and who want to make health improving lifestyle changes.  The NHS West Kent Health Trainers are recruited from our local communities and have a strong working knowledge of local services and programmes and an understanding of local challenges to health.

A Health Trainer  can talk with you confidentially about your health related issues and signpost you to a range of local services, projects and programmes provided by a range of local agencies. They can also refer you on to a fully qualified Health Trainer should you want one-to-one support to make a particular lifestyle behaviour change.

Health Trainers are based in local community settings such as Healthy Living Centres, Children Centres, Faith Centres, Libraries and GP Surgeries.
